IT Support Intern

Position Purpose

This role requires an articulate, technically minded individual seeking to embark upon a career in the information technology field. Working within the IT department, the user will learn about the overlap between business and technology. With so many active, new, and upcoming projects in ICM’s portfolio, this is a great opportunity to quickly learn about different practices and understand what specific direction of technology to pursue.

The ideal candidate should maintain knowledge of basic IT systems and be actively working toward an entry-level career in the field. He/she will work alongside the helpdesk/support team to provide frontline IT support while integrating with experts in networking, servers, security, enterprise applications, databases, business systems, and project management.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

  1. Provide frontline IT support by documenting and helping resolve service issues.
  2. Coordinate with IT team/security to deploy software patches, fixes, and upgrades.
  3. Provide Tier I support of common software (i.e., MS Office 365, printing).
  4. Assist with organization and support of IT inventory.
  5. Use automation to build and deploy PCs.

Qualifications

Education/Certification
  • High school diploma required
  • Preferably enrolled as a student working toward a degree or certification in a technology field
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system
  • Working knowledge of Office Suite
  • Knowledge of general IT hardware, including laptops, desktops, printers, copiers, wireless, and mobile devices

  • Well organized and keen attention to details
Work Location and Hours
  • On-site
  • Approximately 20-30 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling

  • Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time
  • Must be able to speak and listen clearly
  • Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy
